Benton Community-

What a year! This year certainly didn’t end how we envisioned. It was difficult to see this 8th grade class, the largest in Benton’s history, not be able to celebrate together on their way to high school. I appreciate all that our students and staff did during our closure. I was impressed how well, and how quickly, everyone adapted to our current reality.

Our work preparing for next year continues. We are currently working to finalize our master schedule and student placements. Dr. Walts has shared that he hopes to update us all in mid-July on the plans for what instruction will look like this fall. Do trust that our staff will be ready to provide quality instruction- whether in person, virtually, or a hybrid of both. To our rising 6th grade families- please look for updated information on our website later in June. We missed being able to have you visit us this Spring. We hope to provide a virtual opportunity to help you gain more familiarity with Benton this summer.

Please continue to monitor official PWCS communications throughout the summer. I will also work to keep you updated as new information becomes available. If you see information and it isn’t coming directly from PWCS/Benton, take it with a grain of salt. Give me a follow on Twitter (@BTMSPrincipal) if you have not already. I will continue to provide updates there as well.

Take care and stay healthy. This summer may not look like what summer normally is for us, but do your best to relax and recharge while following public health recommendations.
